Air Fried Sweet Potato Fries

If you don't have an air fryer already, be prepared to buy one after reading this! In college, I took a class for public speaking because like most people, I was absolutely terrified of speaking in front of people. For my final speech, I chose something I was (and still am) very passionate about: my air fryer! LOL.

I know it sounds silly, but my air fryer changed my life in the best ways! Before I get into the recipe for these crispy and delicious sweet potato fries, I want to share with you all the reasons my entire class went on amazon and bought themselves an air fryer in THE MIDDLE of my speech.

First, the air fryer saves so much time.

Anything you cook in there is half of the time it would take in an oven. It takes my almost brand new oven about 5 minutes to reach 400 degrees, whereas the air fryer takes only 30 seconds.

Cooking my sweet potato fries in the oven would take about 25-30 minutes, but in the air fryer this time is cut in half! The air fryer had these at a perfect and beautiful crisp after 10 minutes! Which might've gotten them a little too crispy for some!

Speaking of crispy...

Baking in a regular oven often makes food either too dry, or too soggy! The air fryer is the only appliance I've used that gives my veggies a perfect outer crisp while keeping the inside super moist! (I know most hate that word, but it's true!)

So yes, these sweet potato fries are crispy on the outside, and let's just say juicy on the inside. They're essentially perfect.

Another perk is reheating food brings it back to life! Next time you go out for dinner and have a whole bunch of leftovers to bring home, have no fear... that pizza, or those fries, or WHATEVER it is, will taste as close to as it did when your waitress brought it to you after just a few minutes in the air fryer!

What really sold some people was not the delicious food that comes out of the air fryer, but how EASY it is to use! It's absolutely foolproof. At the top of my air fryer, and most that I've seen, comes with buttons to press for different foods. If you're cooking veggies, just press the veggie button, toss your veggies on the tray, and that's it! I would still suggest going by instructions, or recipes for some foods, but for the most part, it's as simple as that!

So, an appliance that saves me time, effort/energy, and gives me fried-like juicy foods without all the extra oils....yep, sign me up!

Here are some air fryers that I love!

A simple standard one is first. And the second one is a bit more upgraded with 11 cooking presets! Most air fryers even come with cool & fun recipe books. These are just two, but you really can't go wrong with any air fryer!

You can even put cakes in there!

If I haven't sold you yet, you'll be missing out when I share my absolute favorite air fried eggplant 'parm' recipe!

But that's for another day!

Let's get into these perfect sweet potato fries.

  1. Slice your sweet potato into 1/4 in. thick fries.

  2. Mix into a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, and nutritional yeast for that cheesy flavor!

  3. Turn air fryer on to 400, and toss the fries in evenly on the tray.

  4. Fry them for 8-10 minutes, depending on how thin they're cut/how crispy you like them!

  5. Top them with fresh parsley, and I used Go Veggie Parmesan Cheese

Serve with your favorite sauce! I made a maple-mustard sauce and it was absolutely delicious!

  1. Mix 2tbsp. maple syrup with 1.5 tbsp mustard, and fresh pressed garlic, salt and pepper.

Hope you love these fries as much as I do!
