Grocery List & Kitchen Must-Haves :)

Are you so excited to stock your kitchen with plant based essentials?!


To some people, grocery shopping is just a chore, or even a nuisance, but it's honestly one of my favorite things that I do every week! I LOVE going in to Trader Joe's and seeing all of their new items. I'm even happy to wait in their ~20 minute lines to maintain social distancing orders... I know, I'm crazy.


Hopefully this list can make your grocery shopping experience easier, and maybe even more enjoyable!


When I go grocery shopping I typically buy mostly the same things just because I eat mostly the same meals each week. I will switch between greens ie. kale one week, arugula the next for example. But for the most part, I keep it all very simple!


I'm going to first write out every item that I must-have in my kitchen so that you can build your own solid kitchen foundation of items. These are the items I typically don't need to buy every week, and last long in the kitchen/pantry.


Kitchen Must-Haves:


Olive Oil

Balsamic Vinegar / Apple Cider Vinegar

Jasmine Rice / Brown Rice / Quinoa / Lentils

Maple Syrup

Hot Sauces

Salsa ( I love Island Salsa from Trader Joe's!

Pasta (I love Banza! It's made from Chickpeas!)

Chia seeds

Tahini

Old Fashioned Oats

Canned Tomatoes

Canned or Pre-packed Beets

Canned Chickpeas

Canned Black Beans

Nuts: Pecans, or Almonds

Trail Mix (Love these packets from Trader Joe's)

Coconut Milk

PROTEIN POWDER: Juice Plus is my favorite.

Nutritional Yeast


Spices:

Cinnamon

Nutmeg

Garlic

Everything But The Bagel

Basil

Oregano

Cumin

Paprika

Crushed Red Pepper

Parlsey


Now that we've covered most of the kitchen essentials, let's get to grocery shopping!


Here's what I usually need to buy every week, or every other week (I just shop for me):


Grocery List:

5-6 large bananas

1 pack of blueberries

2 apples

2 lemons / 2 limes

1-2 avocados

2 bell peppers

Red & white onion

1-2 cucumbers

2 Tomatoes or pack of cherry tomatoes

1 large bag of kale, spinach or arugula

1 large head of iceberg lettuce (for my beloved lettuce wraps)

Sliced carrots

Garlic cloves

3 sweet potatoes

Lentils

Hummus

Fresh cilantro, or parsley / basil

Peanut Butter & Almond Butter

4-6 Protein Patties ( I love Impossible "Ground Beef" & Trader Joe's Protein Patties)

Sweet potato chips, or root vegetable chips


This is almost identical to a recent list that I used a couple of days ago.

I spent $39. 91

& here is the receipt!




I know a lot of you don't have Trader Joe's so I'm going to research for you similar items at other grocery stores!
