Simple Burst Cherry Tomato Sauce

Writer's picture: Francesca NardelliFrancesca Nardelli

I grew up cooking with my mother, so a lot of my passion for cooking comes from her! I am also very passionate about health and wellness, so I've taken what I've learned from her, and combined that with my desire to be healthier.

& In my opinion, the simpler the ingredients, the better the taste!

This sauce is a perfect example of that! I use this cherry tomato sauce for so many recipes because it's so simple to make, and so delicious.

Ingredients:

1 container of cherry tomatoes (about 1-2 cups)

olive oil

salt

pepper

fresh garlic

fresh parsley or basil

Steps:

In a skillet on medium heat, add about 2-3 tbsp olive oil. Once oil is heated, add cherry tomatoes. Add salt & pepper. Let the tomatoes sit in the olive oil, stirring occasionally. They eventually will begin to burst. I often pop them :)

Once the tomatoes burst, add a couple cloves of pressed garlic. Press on the tomatoes until they are fully bursted, and a sauce is forming. Let simmer on low heat to thicken. Finally, add your fresh herbs!

Hope you love this simple, and flavorful sauce!
